The Purr-fect Companion is Waiting for You...

The Cheyenne Animal Shelter is celebrating national Adopt-a-Cat Month this month.  It’s the perfect time to promote cat adoptions because the spring and summer months typically bring a surge of cats to the nation’s shelters.

Adoption prices for cats have been lowered to two for $60 in hopes to find homes for more felines during June.  All cats adopted from the Cheyenne Animal Shelter will leave the shelter already spayed or neutered, microchipped and will have at least one set of vaccinations, and will come with a certificate for a free veterinary exam.

Critter Camp 2009

Critter Camp is the ultimate day-camp adventure for children who love spending time with animals and learning how to care for them. Critter Camp activities include games, crafts, presentations and special animal encounters! During the week long camp, attendees learn about cats, dogs, wild animals as well as exotic animals. Older children interested in veterinary medicine are allowed to watch a spay or neuter done in the shelter's very own Four Friends Fix-it Shop.

The cost per session is $150 per child or $125 per child if enrolling two or more children. This year, one class will be offered for older children (completed 3-5 grade) and two classes will be offered for younger children (completed k-2). We will hold one mixed age session for children who have completed k-5.

The dates and age groups for the 2009 Critter Camp are:

  • June 15-19, mixed age session (completed k-5) Sold out!
  • July 6-10, older children session (completed 3-5) Sold out!
  • July 13-17, younger children session (completed k-2)
  • August 3-7, younger children session (completed k-5) Sold out!
