Paddle for the pets at the 2026 ‘Paddle on the Plains’ pickleball tournament!
On Friday, November 13, and Saturday, November 14, join us at The Picklr for the second-ever Paddle on the Plains pickleball tournament! Grab your paddle, rally your friends, and compete for the chance to take home the coveted Paddle on the Plains trophy—all while supporting the pets and programs of the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join the fun, with four divisions to choose from: Men’s, Women’s, Mixed, and Youth.
But the fun doesn’t stop between matches! Enjoy exciting raffles, delicious beverages, and visits from some of our very own adoptable (and ridiculously adorable) shelter pets. You might just find your new doubles partner!
AND THEN… IT’S TIME FOR THE RUNNING OF THE WEENIES!
On Saturday, November 14, we’re unleashing one of the silliest events of the weekend! Even if you’re not registered for the pickleball tournament, you can sign up your fluffy, fabulous, short-legged canine to compete in the Running of the Weenies!
Whether your pup is speedy, wiggly, or more interested in stopping to make friends with the crowd, they’re invited to hit the “track” and compete for ultimate weenie glory!

Schedules and Divisions
Please arrive 30 minutes before your first scheduled match for check-in. Be sure to coordinate with your partner to make sure you are both aware of your division and start time! We will work to stay on schedule throughout the weekend, but minor timing adjustments may occur. Please be ready to play when your group is called. We will not have long delays between rounds. The tournament schedule will be released closer to the big day!

Tournament Format & Rules
We plan to use the Swish for tournament schedules and scoring. Please download Swish before the tournament — join codes will be provided on-site.
Balls: Vulcan
Round Robin: to 11, win by 1
Bracket Play & Semifinals: to 11, win by 2
Championship & Bronze: to 15, win by 2
Timeouts: none during round robin; one per game in bracket play
Bracket Play: single elimination (starting in quarterfinals)
Seeding will be based on win percentage. If tied:
Head-to-head (if applicable)
Total points
Coin flip
Tournament directors may adjust the format if needed to maintain schedule consistency.

Raffles & Fundraising
We will have raffle items and a 50/50 raffle throughout the weekend.
All proceeds benefit the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. Please bring some cash to make the raffles easier to manage.

Sportsmanship Reminder
This is a charity tournament, so please keep it fun, competitive, and positive. We thank you for coming together for the pets in our care and the programs that support our community.
Call balls out only if you clearly see them out. If there is doubt, the ball is in!
