Healing Starts Here!

It’s no mystery why Mystique was so adopted so quickly.

This affectionate 10-month-old feline arrived at our doors in early February after her family faced difficult housing challenges. Though her future seemed uncertain, Mystique’s gentle nature never wavered. She greeted every stranger with her signature charm, seeking out cuddles with a gentle purr and bright, hopeful eyes.

But beneath her soft cream-colored fur, something wasn’t right…

Mystique was sporting an uncomfortable limp, and thanks to a thorough exam and diagnostic X-ray performed by Medical Director, Dr. Winsch, we discovered a painful femoral fracture that had healed improperly. Without that X-ray, we may have known the extent of her injury.

To give Mystique the pain-free future she deserved, Dr. Winsch performed surgery on her fractured femur. The operation was a resounding success, granting Mystique the freedom to walk, jump, and play like she was always meant to. Today, Mystique is thriving. Healthy. Happy. Loved and cherished by her new family.

This #WyoGivesDay, Wednesday, July 16th, bring hope into focus as we come together to raise $25,000 towards a new X-ray machine for the veterinary clinic here at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter!

With thousands of pets joining us every year, and many in need of life-saving medical attention, an X-ray is often where healing begins. Every dollar raised brings hope to the pets in our community who need it the most and allows us to provide them with the care and compassion they deserve.

Here’s how you can get involved on the big day!

  1. Save the date and donate to our WyoGives page on July 16th.

  2. Create your own fundraiser! Just visit our WyoGives page, click “Fundraise,” share your story, and encourage your friends and family to donate!

  3. Visit the Cheyenne Animal Shelter (800 Southwest Dr.) between 12:00 and 5:00 P.M. to join in on the fun!
